The wave of events of civil resistance against armed actions that was observed in Colombia between November 12th, 2001 and March 2nd, 2002, mostly in the Cauca department, arises as a good way to forward conflict resolution, without denying it. There were very particular conditions in those places where actions of civil resistance were successful, which makes it impossible to expect them to take
place in other parts of the country where there is a lack of communal tradition of collective action, understanding of the specific action of armed groups, and collective projects for the construction of society. Still, there is much to be done before a transition is possible from a point of civil resistance to one of Non Violence,  even in those places where the former has been successful.
