Coffee Women and Changes in their Traditional Role

This paper presents the major changes ocurred in the traditional role of some women,owners of coffee farms, in the municipalities of Calarcá, Montenegro and Sevilla (Colombia),between 1970 and 2011, highlighting the impact of family planning methods on femaletransformations. The analysis addresses the institutional actions developed by theFederación Nacional de Cafeteros and Profamilia as explanatory elements of the identifiedchanges. It is a descriptive study with a historical perspective that took a regionalapproach methodology to examine overall changes in family and women.
