The purpose of this paper is to describe the work developed by the Beneficencia de Cundinamarcain hospices and homes for children who were under its responsibility between1917 and 1928. Emphasis is placed on the administrative and financial structure, the actors,and the intervention strategies in these institutions. The study, which was mainlycarried out from consulting different types of documents of the Beneficence’s GeneralBoard, allows you to identify the economic difficulties faced by these establishments andto learn about the different intervention strategies implemented for the care and protectionof children in the hospices. All of this within the framework of an important debateon childhood, in which doctors, teachers, and lawyers participated at the beginning ofthe twentieth century.
