This research is an exploratory spatial data analysis (ESDA) of femicides in Mexico at themunicipal level. This is carried through the application of spatial and spatiotemporalanalysis techniques for three different years: 1990, 2000 and 2010. It has the purpose ofidentify the changes that occur on the femicides patterns. The results suggest that femicidesare not randomly distributed but tend to concentrate in certain urban and ruralareas. The results also indicate a spatial diffusion towards northern municipalities in2010; while for 1990 and 2000 a higher incidence was found in southern municipalities.
